What is happening?

What is happening with the basketball team on the road. The team can't seem to win on the road this month, with losses to Notre Dame and now Marquette, coach John Beilein has got to start wondering what he can do to turn this around. Of course, I seemed to notice that there was a lot of fouls not called against both Notre Dame and Marquette. At one point during today game I thought Beilein would get a "t".

Hopefully, they will be able to get the problems ironed out before the South Florida game on the 17th.

I also watched part of the UCLA vs. USC game and have to say that this was a great game as was the Maryland vs. Duke ladies game. I'm going to watch the football games tonight and during the second game will be also checking out the Pitt vs. Georgetown game. This will be a good match=up between the big men on both teams, Aaron Gray and Roy Hibbert spotlight the return of the big men in college basketball.

"We Are Marshall"

I went to see "We Are Marshall" on the Sunday before Christmas and loved the movie. Even though it's a movie about a football team the movie is mostly about the rebuilding of a school, town and the people affected by the crash.

Anthony Mackie as Nate Ruffin is excellent as the hurt player who was unable to go to the ECU game and fought to keep the team going when Marshall wanted to do away with the program.

David Strathairn is also very good at President Donald Dedmon the none football person who ends up being a great fighter for the program and losses his job in the process.

Christian Kanupke plays Keith Morehouse the son of the announcer for the Marshall Thundering Hurd and who loves football and later becomes the voice of the Hurd.

Matthew Fox who plays Red Dawson the only assistant couch who is on the new Thundering Hurd and has to get through his own grief will couching the players who they have recruited through any means that they could.

Anyone with ties to either Marshall or West Virginia should go and see the movie.

2 great wins

We have shown that we can overcome adversity and come back to win the Gator Bowl. This was a nice win for the Mountaineers in that it was the first at the Gator Bowl. I went to the 1982 game against Florida State and it was a bad game for the Mountaineers. It rained through the entire game and that year is was cool and at night so that made it even worse.

We won our second Big East basketball game against Villanova last night by a score of 67-56. Frank Young had a great game with 8 3-pointers and 25 points total. Hopefully, with this win we will move up in the polls.

Now, to how the Big East is doing the Bowl games we are now 4-0 and if Cincinnati can beat Western Michigan the Big East will have the best bowl record of all of the conferences playing at least 3 game. GO BIG EAST!!

Loved the fact that Notre Dame got beat by LSU last night. Watched most of the game until it got late and thought LSU had it wrapped up so I went to bed.
