Bad Weather

We in Ohio got some bad weather with lots of snow and ice. In the Dayton area we got 4 inches of snow topped by 1 inch of ice and then another 3 inches of snow. As can be seen in our backyard we have lots of snow and it will take forever to melt. The driveway will be an allday job today will trying to get the ice gone. The snow was done off yesterday and then we got the sleet and ice with more snow. The snow is gone but now I am trying to get the ice off the driveway. Wish me luck! I got part off but had to come in and warm up since is about 20 degrees in the sun.

Beat UCLA

Was I ever excited to see that we beat UCLA for the second year in a row. I wish I could have seen the came but since I will in Ohio which is Big Ten country, the local channels carried the Indiana - Illinois game. So I went to ESPN and watched the Marquette - Georgetown game and watched the scores at the bottom of the screen. I also read that many of the students were in line since early Friday to get good seats. Of course all the sports talking heads had to bring up the fact that Darren Collison was injured and did not play. Even though he was injured, which could have happened at anytime during the season we still won. Now we have 5 more game until the Big East tournament. Those being Georgetwon on 2/12, Seton Hall 2/17, Providence 2/20 Pittsburgh 2/27 and Cincinnati 3/3 of which only Seton Hall and Cincinnati are at home. Hope that they will play as a team and show how good they can be. Hope everyone has gone to the NCAA sports and signed up for March Madness on Demand so that they can watch the games on their computers. I did this last year and watched several of the games that way.

Big East SOS

I just read another blog about the Big East Strength of Schedule and was surprised that WVU was listed as 16. Since we have beaten both UConn and Vill and they are ranked 2 and 1 respectively. I asked for the formula and will see if I can get it and compute the rankings myself.

Finally a Big East Road WIN

West Virginia finally got a road win in the Big East against Rutgers last night. They shot 65% from the floor and hit 14 of 21 from beyond the 3 point line. At one point WVU had made 11 straight shots but they did turn it over 4 of their first 8 possesions that kept Rutgers in the game.

Butler had a career night with 17 points and there was a total of 5 Mountaineers scoring double digits. If only they could pick up the percentage they got on the free throw line, they only shot 65% from there also.

The next game is against Seton Hall and will be Saturday at noon.
